What VetAtlas Is
VetAtlas is a free, independent guide to the benefits, programs, and protections U.S. military veterans and their families have earned. The information that veterans need is real, but it is scattered — across VA.gov, fifty different state agencies, dozens of federal programs, and hundreds of PDFs. VetAtlas gathers it into one place and explains it in plain English, with a direct link to the official source on every page.
There is no login, no paywall, and no account required. Most tools on the site run entirely in your browser and never send your answers to a server. We don't sell data or hide the useful parts behind a sign-up wall — the goal is simply to help the next veteran find what should have taken weeks, not years.
What You'll Find Here
- VA disability claims guidance — how the claims process works, C&P exam preparation, appeals, and the conditions and benefits veterans most often miss.
- State-by-state veteran benefits — property tax exemptions, military retirement tax breaks, education, hunting and fishing licenses, and more for all 50 states.
- A VA combined rating calculator and a benefits eligibility finder — estimate your combined rating and discover programs you may qualify for.
- VA healthcare, education benefits, VA home loans, and career transition tools — including a resume builder that translates military experience into civilian terms.
- A searchable library of official VA forms, DD-214 help, and verified veteran discounts.
How We Verify Information
Veterans make life-altering decisions based on what they read here, so accuracy is non-negotiable. Every dollar amount, eligibility threshold, and legal citation is traced back to its highest-authority source — the CFR, U.S. Code, or the official VA or state agency page — before it goes live. State claims are checked against each state's own .gov site, figures are copied rather than calculated, and anything that affects a veteran's money or eligibility is flagged for a second review. You can read more about who built VetAtlas and how it's researched, browse our sources, or report something that looks wrong.
