VA Beneficiary Travel (Mileage Reimbursement)
VA reimburses travel to medical appointments at $0.415/mile with a $6 round-trip deductible ($18/month cap). Eligible: veterans rated 30%+, any veteran traveling for service-connected treatment, C&P exams, or VA pension recipients. File within 30 days via BTSSS online, smartphone check-in, or VA Form 10-3542.
VA Special Mode Transportation
VA-paid ambulance, wheelchair van, air ambulance, or other specialized transport for veterans who meet Beneficiary Travel eligibility and have a VA clinician-documented medical need. Must be pre-approved by VA except in emergencies.
Veterans Transportation Program (DAV Vans)
Free volunteer-driven transport to VA medical centers via DAV vans, plus VA-operated Veterans Transportation Service (VTS) at select facilities. Contact your local VA facility to check availability.

Free annual pass to all 400+ national parks, national forests, and 2,000+ federal recreation areas for active duty, veterans, and Gold Star families. Free lifetime pass also available for veterans and Gold Star families. Covers entrance fees and standard amenity fees.
TSA PreCheck — Free for Active-Duty
Free TSA PreCheck for active-duty military with a CAC — no enrollment fee required. Enter DoD ID number from back of CAC as Known Traveler Number when booking. Veterans pay standard fee (~$78/5 years); emerging free program for disabled veterans — check TSA.gov for current status. Gold Star families get fee waived.
